Hosting a Tournament

Organizations desiring to host a tournament in the Affiliate must apply for a USA Hockey sanction number. This sanction is required to demonstrate that the tournament organizer is duly registered with USA Hockey, that ice has been acquired, rules have been established and that USA Hockey insurance is in force during tournament games. Teams traveling will be required to include the sanction number on their Travel Permit requests. Tournament organizers should follow these steps in submitting their Tournament Application:

1.      Complete each application separately (if multiple tournaments).

  • Invitational Tournament Application - updated 6/22

2.      Email the application(s) to:

  • Jill Nicholson (txregistrar97@gmail.com) and Darla Thompson (rmdregistrar@gmail.com)

3.      Email one copy of the tournament rules. Make sure they  include:

  •         Tiebreaker rules
  •         Credentialing process
  •         Individual responsible for check in procedure

4.      Send one check, made out to USA Hockey in an amount equal to $250 for each tournament application

5.      Send one check, made out to Rocky Mountain District in an amount equal to $50 for each tournament application

  • Mail checks to USA Hockey and Rocky Mountain District to Darla Thompson at: 3216 Saint Bridges Drive, Plano, Texas 75093

6.      Send one check, made out to TAHA, in an amount equal to $25 for each tournament application (indicate the dates of the tournaments on the check)

  • Mail check to TAHA  to Jill Nicholson at: 5916 English Manor Rd., Denton, TX 76210

7.      District Registrar and TAHA will review each application, approve and assign a sanction number

8.      TAHA will distribute approved application to tournament organizer

PLEASE ALLOW 4-5 WEEKS FOR TOURNAMENT APPROVAL
